Do block heel sandals sink into grass or sand?

Far less than a stiletto does. Are these bridal shoes?

They are not sold as bridal, though the White pair gets worn that way. The look is boho western, cherry embroidery over a peep toe, closer to a festival than a chapel. How does the ankle strap fasten?
