A Gold Finished Resin Frenchie, Twenty Inches Tall
Duke is a resin sculpture with a gold finish, sitting upright with his ears forward, 20 inches tall and about a foot wide. The stem rises behind his head rather than out of it, so the sculpture reads whole instead of being used as a plinth, and it carries a white fabric shade with a ball finial on top. He arrives finished, shade fitted, nothing to screw together. He sits in French Bulldog Lamps alongside Winston.
Resin With A Gold Finish
The gold is a finish applied over resin. The finish gives the warmth; the weight is resin weight. Treat the finish as a finish: dust it dry, and keep polishes and abrasives off it.
What This Costs, Plainly
Duke is $464. The gold Frenchie lamps that dominate the organic results sell for around $70, and the best known of them is genuine cast aluminium rather than resin. We are not going to argue that resin is worth six times cast metal, and Duke is not meaningfully bigger than they are. What you are buying is this sculpt and this finish, delivered as one finished piece with the shade already fitted. That is the whole case. If price is the deciding factor, those are the ones to go and look at.
Duke Or Winston
Same breed, different jobs. Duke is gold, 20 inches, one upright sitting pose, a white shade, and a stem that rises behind the head. Winston is black, 18.9 or 15 inches depending on pose, a dark woven shade, and a socket that comes out of the top of the head. Duke reads warm and lit in an entry or a living room; Winston reads quiet and low beside a bed.
Where He Actually Fits
A foot of width is more than most lamps ask for, so measure the surface, not just the ceiling clearance. Console tables, entry tables and sideboards suit him better than a desk.
