More information on these socks
Dog Slipper Socks For Women, Not For The Dog
Worth saying first, because the phrase covers two different products: Bayshore Ivy goes on your feet. A good share of what sits beside it is grip socks made for a dog to wear on hardwood. These are dog slipper socks for women, a plush sherpa sock with a sculpted puppy sitting on the toe, and they will not fit a dog.
Four colourways carry the same face: Caramel, Mocha, Cocoa and Cream. The wider range of dog slippers for women sits in Pet Wear and Carry.
The Face Is Sculpted, Not Printed Flat
This is the difference you are paying for. Most dog socks carry the animal as a print, an embroidery or a knitted-in pattern, sitting flat against the fabric. Ours is sculpted. The muzzle stands off the toe, the ears sit up, and it reads as an object rather than a picture of one.
That construction costs several times what a flat printed puppy costs, and these are priced above the flat printed pairs.
Acrylic Sherpa, And How To Look After It
The pile
Soft acrylic plush sherpa, the same pile throughout. Sherpa names a construction, and the fibre here is acrylic. Synthetic pile is what makes a sock this soft.
Care
Cold water, gentle, no bleach and no fabric softener, then air dry rather than tumble. Heat is what mats acrylic nap and flattens it for good. That is the fibre talking rather than a care label we can quote you.
One Size, And Exactly What It Fits
One size, cut to take a foot in the 35 to 40 range. Our women's shoe size chart puts 35-36 at a US women's 5 and 39-40 at a US women's 9, so that is the span. A sock stretches where a structured slipper cannot, which is what makes one size workable at all.
Above a US 9 we would not push it. If that is you, the closed Ridgemont Jade slipper is sized in ranges up to 43-44 and is the safer buy.
The Non-Slip Sole, And Where Not To Wear Them
A non-slip grip pattern runs across the sole. It is the first thing most buyers check on a slipper sock, and it is the reason to reach for these rather than ordinary thick socks on a wood floor or a tiled kitchen.
They are specified for indoor wear, so keep shoes by the door for anything outside. Cold-floor mornings, the hour before bed, Sundays on the sofa. The wider line is in Cove Companions.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are dog slipper socks for women, or for the dog to wear?
For women here. Two products share the phrase: socks a person wears with a dog design on them, and anti-slip socks a dog wears on hardwood. Bayshore Ivy is the first kind, a one size sock cut for a human foot in the 35 to 40 range, and it will not fit a dog.
What size are they, and will they fit a US women's 9?
A 9 is the top of the range. One size, built to take a foot listed 35 to 40. Our women's shoe size chart puts 35-36 at a US 5 and 39-40 at a US 9. Larger sellers cover more ground by splitting into small through extra large. We use stretch instead, and it stops at 9.
How should I wash them?
Cold water on a gentle cycle, no bleach and no fabric softener, then air dry. We do not hold a manufacturer care label for these, so read that as fibre guidance rather than a quoted instruction. Acrylic pile mats permanently under heat, which makes the tumble dryer the one thing to avoid.
Do they grip on hard floors?
That is what the sole is for. It carries a non-slip grip pattern, which holds on tile, wood and laminate, and that is the main reason to wear slipper socks rather than ordinary ones on a hard floor.
Can I wear them outdoors?
Indoors only, the same as the rest of the category. Bins, post box, a dash to the car: put shoes on. Inside they are made to be lived in.
Is sherpa the same as wool?
Sherpa names a construction rather than a fibre, a pile fabric napped to imitate fleece, and ours is acrylic. That makes it a vegan pile, worth knowing if you are buying for someone who avoids animal fibres. Most pairs in this category are synthetic for the same reason.
Should I get slipper socks or closed slippers?
Socks if you want soft and packable and you move between rooms rather than standing about. Closed slippers if you want a firm sole under you and a size that has to be right. Bayshore Ivy is the sock, one size. Ridgemont Jade is the closed plush version, sized 35-36 through 43-44.
